Professor Dr Bernd Vogel, is a Professor in Leadership and Founding Director of the Henley Centre for Leadership at Henley Business School, University of Reading. He is also a Visiting Scholar at Claremont Graduate University, USA, Earlier roles include Visiting Professor at IESE Business School, Spain, and Visiting Scholar at Marshall School of Business, University of Southern California, USA, project leader in the Organizational Energy Program (OEP), Lecturer at University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, and Leibniz University Hannover, Germany. He received his PhD from the Leibniz University Hannover, Germany.
Bernd’s research focuses on the future of leadership; leadership that mobilises maintains energy in organisations and senior management teams; emotions in organisation; developing leadership capacity; CEO decision making and identity, and leading change and transformation.
His latest edited book is “Developing Leaders for Positive Organizing: A 21st Century Repertoire for Leading in Extraordinary Times”. He co-authored the book “Fully Charged: How Great Leaders Boost Their Organization’s Energy and Ignite High Performance”, Harvard Business Review Press. He has published in international top-tier journals.
Bernd has been teaching in MBA and Executive Education programs for Henley Business School and other business schools, and co-developed the Henley MA Leadership. He is educating, speaking, and consulting in global companies based on his expertise in the future of leadership, creating and sustaining organizational energy, developing leadership and followership capability, developing management teams, or leading change. Bernd is a certified executive coach. He has worked internationally with clients such as AbbVie, Allianz, Alstom Power Service, Detecon, Deutsche Telekom, Ella’s Kitchen, Evonik, FLSmidth, Guinness Partnership, Jenny Packham, Lufthansa, Manor, Migros, RBS Insurance and SAB Miller.
